Service Description

DAO reduction uses botulinum toxin type A to relax the depressor anguli oris muscles, which pull down the corners of the mouth and can create a sad or tired appearance. By targeting these muscles, the mouth corners lift slightly, resulting in a softer, more balanced, and approachable smile while preserving natural expression. This treatment is ideal for clients who notice persistent downward corners of the mouth, asymmetry, or wish to enhance facial harmony without dermal fillers or surgery. Results are subtle, refined, and natural, enhancing overall facial aesthetics. At Aisha Khayat Aesthetics, I use Azzalure®, a prescription-only botulinum toxin, chosen for its safety, precision, and predictable outcomes when administered by an expert clinician. Consultation & Prescription A full medical consultation is required prior to treatment. I assess your facial anatomy, muscle activity, smile dynamics, and medical history. We discuss your goals, expected results, and potential risks. Treatment is performed only if clinically appropriate. Treatment Experience The procedure takes 5–10 minutes. Ultra-fine needles deliver precise doses to the DAO muscles. Discomfort is minimal and brief. No downtime is required — most clients return to normal activities immediately. Results Initial effects appear within 3–5 days, with full results by 10–14 days. Results typically last 3–4 months, depending on individual muscle activity. The treatment softens the downward pull, improves symmetry, and contributes to a more youthful, relaxed expression. Pre- & Post-Treatment Guidance Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior Avoid anti-inflammatory medications or supplements such as fish oil or vitamin E for several days beforehand Post-treatment, avoid rubbing, massaging, or strenuous facial activity for 24–48 hours You will receive comprehensive aftercare instructions and have direct access to me following your treatment.
