First Blog Post…

Sunday! Finally! This past week has been quiet the challenging one with having a sick and moody toddler at home and trying to balance numerous deadlines. To be perfectly honest, there has been a bit more wine (for me) and a bit more TV (for her) than I care to admit, but whatever works and gets us through. This week, we were invited to see Santa (the fabulous Santas Grotto at Harrods!!) which we had to miss as our little Ayla was so poorly. The weekend entailed the celebration of our Three Year Wedding Anniversary, and  one of my favourite events of the year, The Salon Collection Christmas Party! I’m so thankful the weekend is here and hopefully, Ayla is on the mend. Below are some gifts I am buying, my Christmas nails, and projects I’m currently working on.

Gift Ideas

Ayla has been so into puzzles lately, so for Christmas, I ordered her this floor puzzle. We also got her a few books. I’ll be posting my favourite children’s books next week.

Another thing I added to his Christmas list, especially since she’s been into crafts, is this Giant Busy Box.

Also on my list to buy is The Brio First Train Set. A Swedish design, shortlisted for this years Made For Mums Toys awards. I think this will be a really interactive toy for Ayla to play and for her little sister to get involved with.

Our little one, Mia, who is now 10 months old is always up on her feet. She’s learning to walk and I don’t think it’ll be long till I’m running around the house after her. I’ve shopped for a pull along cart and my favourite is the Janod Wooden Pull Along Cart.

Spreading the Christmas Cheer

Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year. I love buying gifts and can’t help but get involved in the spirit of Christmas. One of the projects I’m most proud of working on this year is “Operation Secret Santa“. This is a local initiative that gifts shoebox presents to those in need at Christmas. I have got involved in this sort of gift giving before and wanted to setup a scheme locally that was is not affiliated with any religious denomination.

I decided what would one more project hurt this year….. and hauled myself in to setting up Operation Secret Santa. I’m blessed to have one of my closest friends work with me in making this happen and together we’ve managed to get the word out about what we are doing. Thank you to Radio Verulam and BBC Three Counties for inviting us to their radio show and for showing support.

The shoebox presents will be given out before Christmas at St Albans & Hertsmere Womens Refuge, Open Door Homelessness Service, and the Trussell Trust Food Bank.

If you would like to get involved visit for more information.

Christmas Beauty Essentials

I visited The Salon Nail Boutique this week for my festive nails. I simply can’t live without my nails being groomed. The amazing Edwina and Bryony catered to my needs and were so accommodating to my little one. I chose a classic red, “Big Apple Red”, from OPI and a stunning “Diamond” glitter from Gel Bottle Inc.

Well that’s a wrap for my first ever blog post…. Daunting much!

Wishing you all the best weekend!
