I can’t believe there is two more nights till our NYE celebrations and we all draw a close to 2018.
While the festivities have been in full swing there’s not much time to think about plans for the new year. I have to admit that I am eagerly anticipating the new year. I love that new year feeling of a fresh start, full of optimism and enthusiasm. I have secretly been planning my year ahead amongst all the celebrations, parties, family get-togethers and Christmas shopping. I find myself pulling out my note pad and jotting a few quick notes whenever the moment arises.
What will the new year entail? Does anyone have any plans, projects, travel ideas? I’ll be sharing my plans for the new year in my next blog post.
This last week has been immense and I’m so sad it’s coming to an end. I adore Christmas, as I’m guessing most people do. This year I decided to give back to the community by setting up Operation Secret Santa. A Christmas Shoebox donation to those in need in our local community. 98 boxes in total were collected by our deadline of the 20thDecember and I had the most wonderful time delivering the shoebox presents. I even did a delivery of shoebox presents with my little ones with me. The whole experience has been so rewarding and I’m so grateful to everyone who donated and got involved. The shoebox presents were delivered to St Albans & Hertsmere Womens Refuge, Trussell Trust Food Bank, Vineyard Church and Open Door. If you would like to get involved next year, I have every anticipation of running the operation again.
I want to say a massive shout out to all the mums who hold it all together through the holidays. From preparing food to hosting family, to refereeing fights between the kids, to the multiple outfit changes, to the out of town family and more often than not putting the needs of everyone else before yourself.
Here’s to surviving Motherhood!
Wishing everyone a happy new year. May this year bring new happiness, new goals, new achievements and lots of new inspirations on your life. Wishing you a year fully loaded with happiness.
